I live in FBC near Rosenberg.

lol funny you say that. I just bought her a .22 about a month ago. She's been to a basic pistols class and got her CCL about 6 years ago. She just doesn't enjoy shooting guns or being around them if she can avoid it. To her it's more of a tool she might have to use one day if it comes down to it. I love her dearly, but we are just different in that way.
In Texas we don't have CCL, we have LTC.

Where? It helps to put a more specific location on your sig on the left- County is fine.

What's wrong with the girlfriend? It's up to you to rectify. Explain how guns are more than loud noisemakers. Get her started on a .22 and teach her the zen of target shooting. People are naturally afraid of that which they don't have familiarity with.

I was talking to a newly-minted couple on the pistol range the other day. She hadn't had her guns out in 13 years, she said. She had nicer guns than he did- she had beautiful engraved peacemakers. She was also shooting the .44 mag, and at further distance. They had a blast. She left me 100 starline .45 long cases for me to scavange, bless her heart.

It's not up to him to "rectify". There's nothing "wrong" with her. In a relationship you're better off not pushing your wishes on your partner. Shooting doesn't interest everybody. If your partner is O.K with you shooting that's enough.

Forty five years ago my girlfriend wanted to go shooting with me. That was all the excuse I needed to get her a S&W Model 63. She went a few times but then we got married....sound familiar?

The only times she's been since is a couple of times when friends of hers asked to go. I think she just wanted to see where I was hanging out so much. She seems to have decided that since there were practically zero unescorted females (in the day) and it was quite possibly the safest place in the county, she was O.K. with it.

Part of the Zen of target shooting is solitude. I prefer an empty range. It's not a social event for me. Now I get to shoot that Model 63.
