Hey guys and gals. On my way back from an errand Tuesday morning(~1230AM) my 1997 Chevy Cheyenne decide to crap out on me. I thought it was a torn boot as I could see it arcing off the manifold. After new wires and coil, still no joy.
If anybody happens to have a Snap On Red Brick or similar scanner that wouldn't mind helping out, the wife and I would be grateful as were about to put the truck up for sale.

Does the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key to run? You should hear it. Rent a fuel pressure gauge from Autozone or Oreillys(free) and check it while it's cranking over. Should be around 35 psi or better. If that's good pull a plug and check for spark.

Many thanks to M. Sage for coming out and helping trouble shoot the truck this morning. Turns out it is the d%&^ fuel pump.
