I have no experience with them, I think the barrel was chrome plated? It looked fine. Are you a Ham radio operator?

Sure am. My call is now WA9BYR, Advanced class, originally licensed in 1962.

Why didn't you use your current call as user name? Just curious. I had a teacher in high school that was a ham operator, he brought in his radio one day. That's the only reason I recognized you were using your call.....errr, old call. He tried to teach use Morse Code, I didn't do so hot on that one.

I have had quite a few calls over the years QRZ.COM Callsign WA9BYR
US, Central America etc. My email address was established with the WB5 call so I use it but the WA9 call is easy for me to remember too.

One thing, I'm probably the only person who uses either one and I recognise them immediately. Anyway, thanks for asking. TI is Costa Rica, YN is Nicaragua and YS is El Salvador. KP4 is Puerto Rico, part of the US
