Default Glock slide finish

So the G27 that I just aquired has parkerized type finish on the slide and I found out it was made in 1999. I purchased a new G22 in 2001 and a new G23 in 2006 that both had a harder more durable finish. When did Glock switch to the later style finish? i like that one much better.

Clay, that's not a parkerized finish, it's Rustoleum flat black spraypaint that I used to hide all the scratches from you.

Okay, maybe that wasn't all that funny. I didn't know about a change in finishes.

They went to the Tenifer finish between 1999 and 2001.

No big deal TXSUT. A chunk of the slide already fell off and I just super glued it back on. I carry it for show anyways!! LOL

Good to know. I would like to have it refinished in that when the wear on this finish gets pretty bad. Any idea how much Glock would charge?

Talking Tenifer?

Tenifer? Ya, I hope he's joking too!

My G27 has the flat black look too. And also has the "smooth" finger grooves.

My 2.5 gen G29 has the flat look also,

And my 3rg gen G29 has the nicer "wet" look.

I don't prefer either one over the other.
