The cutting and touching up is pretty straight forward. The PITA is getting the bead back on. Does the current barrel have screw in chokes? If so, it would be a shame to cut it. Far better to get a non-Winxhoke barrel and cut it. Vent ribs often look goofy on short barrels. Might try to find a plain barrel to cut.

Its a rib vent, I am interested in making it a legal barrel length as im a law abiding citizen. I do have a work shop with metal cutting saws. I cant afford another shotgun at this time.

I know how things can get. I just graduated UT and started a new job as a power systems engineer. I'll call you Saturday and see if we can meet up sometime this weekend. The new job has me off to Kentucky for the next 2 weeks for training - so sooner rather than later is probably better.
