Default CHL slippery slope...

Why do people pay money and beg permission from our politicians to carry weapons concealed?

Didn't the Founding Fathers make it clear that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed?

Those CHL fees are an unfair tax! That money sure ain't going to support shooting rights.

Plus you have to fill out a lot of paper work, basically trying to prove your innocence, becasue they assume you are a criminal.

I know you CHL holders are trying to do the right thing and follow the laws, but sometimes laws are wrong.

Wake up people!

Preaching to the choir on that one.

Teaching the Constitution for a full year should be mandatory. Parents can handle the sex ed ... or the grandkids ... their choice.

Cause what is fair is for children and democrats.

This is the world we live in. Everything can't be a battle. We have to take them one at a time.

No one's asleep here..

I think for the time being we've got to to play nice and take what we can get. Then take back what is ours, piece by piece. Have you seen Austin and the types that hover around there? Not all exactly the gun-lovin' bunch.

No one is happy paying the the fees we do. But its what has to be done for now. Otherwise we all get to walk around unarmed and at the mercy if the gun controlers. Why let them win in the first round? They'll always push for regulations; we'll always push for less.

No one's asleep and no one's quit

Default Several Reasons

One, the background check eliminates the thugs and gangbangers. And the lengthy discussion concerning deady force enlightens they who intend to carry as to when and only when you may shoot to kill. And among other things CHL makes legal what many have done all their adult lives illegally. It's not paranoia, it's today's world, crime, evil people looking for somebody to victimize, your Texas Right for personal protection....

+1......It's a PIA, but the background check does eliminate the convicted criminals from carrying legally. The fees should be lower though. But, it's not worth the risk to carry concealed without a valid permit. Jail sux......

Vermont seems to have done just fine for the past century and more, and Alaska hasn't reported any issues yet...

And I might add that being raised with firearms all my life I feel like I was dressed without drawers when the weight of that pistol is not there....
I don't want any gunfight, I don't want any incident where I would have to use mine, but....

I can read and am not blind to the daily goings on in the cities and even in rural areas on occasion, so like a good Scout....Be Prepared
