I've seen what it can do to people that allow it to control them. Frankly, you aren't going to save these people by making it illegal ... oh wait, it already is.

Legalization would hamper the drug trade by removing scarcity. It could easily be controlled by government in a sales situation as they already readily control tobacco and other products. Most people on the market don't choose to grow their own marijuana, mainly because people are lazy. They just want to pay and consume. The random hobby pot grower should be free to make his own for private consumption.

I don't care to smoke pot, but I see little reason to continue down a broken path.

Sure it can destroy lives, anything can if you let it control you. I'm tired of giving up my personal freedoms because the nannies want to pad the walls for the weak.
Well said and my sentiments as well.

As bad as MJ can be for some people, I feel, like other things in life, it should be a personal decision. Next thing we'll have the government controlling what you eat, and what time you go to bed. We all know low fat, low cholesterol diet is more healthy, and 8 hours of sleep is what they say people need every night.

Exactly, we all know that all-fat and no exercise leads to cardiac arrest at 50, it's not rocket science, but we should be allowed to do it. We are paying the reaper's toll.

As far as other drugs like crack, meth, heroin, etc. I'm still for prohibiting their usage.

I think there is also the issue that the govt doesn't want to say "we lost part of the war on drugs" by legalizing pot. I can honestly say I've never used the stuff (or any other drug) nor do I have any inclination to do so, but I think legalizing it would be more of a benefit than harm.

If it brings in more $ than coastal bermuda, I'd grow it. However, I'd still depend on you guys to smoke it.

A manufactured drug is just that, a drug. Coke, meth, speed, heroin, and the like do not deserve immunity, because they are manufactured. Pot grows wild, and has for many, many thousands of years, and is an herb. The government has deemed it a drug because of the euphorias that it produces, and of course they cant control it like they control the manufacture and taxation of alcohol and tobacco.

And also, we have Harry Anslinger and William Randolph Hearst to thank for the illegality of pot, all because hemp was going to cut into Hearst's wood milling business and therefore into his pocketbook. Hemp can be regrown annually, but trees take years to grow back, but since they inacted the Marijuana Acts, just to include hemp, it all was outlawed.

If it was legalized, yes, I would start smoking again so i wouldnt be tempted by alcohol, as I have never had a hangover or ever heard of anyone ever overdosing or being poisoned by pot. The only thing is, most companies already have statutes in place that it's automatic termination if someone comes up with a dirty UA, say after being injured, and its hard to prove that you were not under the influence of pot because of the time that it stays in your system.

There are alot of things that have to happen for Marijuana to be legalized, and alot of amendments that have to be written because of its legalization. If not legalize it, then at the very least, decriminalize it. Some states have resorted the possession of pot to nothing more than a minor citation and small fine.

There are thirteen states that have medicinal marijuana laws inacted, and if other states would follow suit, the US government would have to do something to change their laws.

Rock on!
