BTW I love my .30-06 3 bullets through one hole at 200 yds. is fine with me. I head shoot does for meat every year. Never requires a second shot, never have to look for them either. MG
I'm with you on that one. Head-shots seem like the way to go. Just make sure you don't accidentally get another deer on the other side. Or if you do, make sure you have two tags, and be sure and claim you did it on purpose!

LOL Point taken!

I'd be willing to bet that the rifle I'm looking at aint going no where, so if she decides she want something a little lighter we can pick up the XS7 just about any where for about $350 or so. I was just wondering if there was anything spectacular about any of these 3 calibers that would set them apart from the rest. I would like to thank everyone for there input on this, I've learned allot from this thread and I'm sure if it keeps going I'll learn allot more.
A good scope can make a huge difference! My advice is to go with the largest diameter objective you can. A 50mm objective or bigger collects so much more light it's almost unbelievable.

Also, get some good, strong rings with it. I don't know what kind of rings you've got your scope in now, but rings make all the difference in the world. Accuracy is nothing more than repeatability, and rock-solid rings is part of the equation when you're talking about a rifle.

+1 on the rings most people don't think about them another thing is bases I would buy a decent base also.

I try and stick with Leupold rings and bases if I can, the rings and bases and the scope are all Leupold right now.
