off the gun topic but...I was on austin.craigslist.com and saw an ad for a 1 year old Apple iMac. I decided to ask the guy if he would like to trade me his iMac for my 1 year old Apple MacBook. He said yes. He wants to meet up today. AND YES IT IS BILLEL DERRAK. So my question is: How could he scam me even if he wanted to? All we we're going to do was trade computers with full inspection of both computers before hand? any suggestions other than don't mess with this guy? This deal is fail-safe in my opinion. I try to play detective whenever I get the chance, just to figure out the way people think ahead of time.

The bigger question to you is now that you've seen what type of guy he is, why would you want to deal with him in the first place?

Well, let's see....you have a thief/criminal/crook wanting to do a deal w/you, and you actually think you can come out on top? IF the thing is good, it's quite possible it was bought via yet another scam. If buying something that's likely hot doesn't bother you, then go ahead - but do us all a favor and don't come back. I have zero use for a thief, or those who'll do business with 'em.

When folks buy "hot" stuff, they enable and encourage the thief. They'll protest how THEY didn't steal it, etc. - but their actions rewards those that do. If you can't grasp that concept, try putting yourself in the shoes of his victims. If you still can't grasp that, then please go take some ethics courses.

+1 I was thinking the same, you know this guy is not telling the truth in any way shape or form.
