Default ? about guns worth

Ive got a custom engraved S&W model 60 .38 special that was given to me by my grandma. The gun was my grandpas many years ago. I dont have a the box but i was told that the gun has never been fired. It has Smith and Wesson ivory handles and tons of engraving. The entire gun is covered with a flower style engraving. anyone have any idea how much something like this is worth?

Dont know how much it'd be worth but it's a fine looking pistol.

Nice gun. Most Model 60's go for around $350-$450 at the gun shows. With the engraving and grips, assuming the gun itself is tight and in good condition, I would think it would bring something in the $1000 range. If it has some verifiable history to it, like law enforcement use, or ownership by some famous (or infamous) person, it would be worth considerably more.

I have a friend that has a similar pistol that was given to his grandfather when he retired as a detective from the Dallas PD.(late 60s early 70s)
Maybe he means that kind of LE use.
