Default Site Feedback - Suggestions. How are we doing?

What do you think about TexasGunTrader.com ?

The only way we can improve the site is if we know what you think. All criticisms are welcome, speak as bluntly as you like.

Have a good experience?
Have a bad experience?
Like something?
Hate something?
Got a great idea?

Post it here.

I've only been on TGT for a day now, but as a former vbulletin administrator myself I'd say the speed of the forum and layout is very good.

But knowing you're looking for feedback, I'll be sure to post up any thoughts I have after I've kicked my shoes off awhile and made myself comfortable. :)

I think the only improvement I can think of for TGTrader is to have a system where every couple days you have to sign in and click a link or atleast "check-in" on your ads to keep them posted up. Maybe once every 72 hrs. or so. That way when you see something on there you know it's somewhat recent and it will cut the browsing time down for people who are searching. It stinks finding a "deal" and then never hearing from the seller because they sold it and aren't signing on anymore. Maybe you could make it so if it saves the ad in the posters profile so that if they miss the deadline for whatever reason, they can sign on and re-post easier instead of having to create it from scratch (i/e re-uploading photos, description, etc.). I'm sure you've heard this suggestion before, but I think it would make serious buyers/sellers a bit happier, and even the casual browsers. BTW, I love the site regardless and will definitely continue to use it!!!

Tired of your guns? Vote Democrat.

Default What's not to like?

In two weeks, I have sold- traded three guns. Results are the most important factor. Only problem I see is that many sellers inflate prices. I think many are just fishing.

Default A Few Suggestions?

First let me say that I love the site. Here are a couple of suggestions that would make navigating the site a little easier in my mind. Which most people tell me I'm out of anyhow.

Being able to search in a category. Once in Pistols being able to search just for Colt.

Not let people put $0.00 in their price. If they want offers let them go to gunbroker and put it up for auction. You know what you want for it or you can search and find out what its worth. Dont be afraid to name your price people.

Keep accesspories out of the gun sales section. I hate having to navigate through misc stuff I dont want to see when I'm looking for guns. If I want accessories I'll go look in the accessory section.

Ok, thats my thats not worth even that most of the time. And the venting is not at TexasGunTraders, just the people who dont know how to use a site propperly, which probably arent reading the forum anyhow.

See you on the range!

I'd like for it to send me a copy of the email when I contact a seller. It would be similar to a confirmation email when an order is placed with an online retailer.

Many sellers comment in their ads that they are unable to receive emails from the TGT email system. Sending a copy to the person initiating contact would confirm that an email was sent.

I like this site. A great place to buy, sell, and trade all sorts of things. It is nice to be able to list a firearm for sale and sell it FTF without all the hoopla of FFL, the yellow form, and FFL transfer fees. GIT R DONE!

The site needs rules on bumping adds,er that is deleting and re posting as soon as the add drops to the second page. I posted an add 24 hours ago and already down on the 6th page and not even listed in the 6 pages of "recent" post.

I agree on this. After initial posting the exact same ad should not be allowed to repost just to grab the top spot on the front page. Should set some type of rule so same ad cannot be reposted for at least 5-7 days.
