Yeah, I'd have to say that talking to an underage girl online and luring her into having sex is one thing, an underage girl that has been prostituting herself for money is a bit different. I don't advocate either, but I don't think the penalties should be equal.
My personal opinion is that the girl (as far as I know) promoted or made the strong implication that she was at least 18. Under that circumstance I don’t believe this guy, or any other should be charged with any age related offense.
I don’t have any fondness of the guy. He could very well have been looking for the youngest looking legal age girl he could find. Or may have been looking for an underage girl pretending to be older...
But there have been many cases of underage girls pretending to be older and ruining the lives of men. Sometimes to cover their own asses when they get caught. Add in that you have 14year old girls regularly dressing like 19 year old prostitutes and pasting their faces over with makeup (I assume because their parents have better things to do than raise their kids) and it’s no surprise men end up in court trying to explain why they aren’t a pedophile for nailing a 15y/o who thought it would be cool to nail an older guy because she has no grasp on what actually matters in life after her parents completely failed at parenting and their kid instead learned that sex is currency and lying is fine in order to achieve raise social standing among the other kids who have learned promiscuity is cool because television told them so.
