I just got a boat paddle stocked 22lr and love it!

    I put a Leupold VX-1 2-7X32 on it after serious consideration of a 2.5x or a 4x.

I am sure there are more accurate 22s out there, but this one does the job for me and will put plenty of squirrels and bunnies in the pot.

As a side note the CCI Quiets are freaking silent. The make a small "tick" sound before a satisfying "thwack" when the hit.

I really love the Ruger BX10 mag, it fits flush with the bottom of the rifle and has 10 rounds. That was one of my main hanguos with mag fed 22lr bolt guns it the cheesy mags so many use.

There is nothing like the feeling of getting a new rifle and taking it out
    Congratulations!

I love the Ruger "boat paddle" all weather rifles.
They were ahead of their time and I don't think they were a hit.

Good for you to have it.
I have one in 22lr. A buddy has one in 22mag.
They shoot great.I love the 15 round factory mags. Stick out just enough without getting in the way like the 25s.

A while back a guy at a gun show had one in 17HMR for a very cheap $400.
It was the first and last paddle boat .17 I've ever seen. I kick myself for not pouncing on it

Oddly enough Ruger's web site has zero 77/22s in 22lr. Discontinued I know not why, except that they were $1,000 and the Ruger Americans at Academy for $269 are a great value though are not built like the 77 series.

Heck, I'm still waiting for them to reintroduce the 96/22!

    Enjoy.

Nice rifle. Too bad the 77/ series hasn’t been more popular or Ruger allowed more parts to be interchanged between the 10/22 and 77/22. If you could have swapped all 10/22 barrels that would have been the ultimate rifle.

    Agree.
The dual extractors on the 77/22 rim-fires make for tremendously reliable case handling. But the 10/22 has but one extractor slot on the rear face of the barrel.

I've wondered if the 10/22 barrels would on a 77/22 reciever if a little slot for that second extractor was machined into it.
I've got an old factory 77/22 barrel around rusting somewhere. Maybe a good work light, a steady hand on a
Dremmel with some tiny carbide bits and some black coffee some evening......hmmmm.....

Would dearly love to have a Gemtech MIST barrel on my 77/22, though, I'd be a bit hesitant to take a Dremmel bit to that piece of steel!! If doable , best left to a pro.

There are/were places that would do it. Haven’t looked it up in a long time. The ability to swap without modification would have been nice.
