Younggun is right. The day of Glock being in first place of reliability or being seen as the striker wonder 9, is over.

After the suggestions I have received I will try to find a M&P to try and shoot. If I don't like it I will go back to a 1911 .45 I was looking at the .40 because I think the force (weight x velocity) will give me more punch on the pin to clear the table.

I am pretty big on hand comfort, for the last 20 or so years I have mainly used a Hi-Power but since that is to big to comfortably conceal I picked up a baby Sig both feel good in my hands. Before that I had Detonics .45 along with a hand full of revolvers but those along with my rifles and goose gun where all stolen while U was out of town working. So i am familiar with shooting I am just wanting to get back to competition.

That's one of the ones I'm looking at, did you change the trigger o keep it stock.
I have read mixed reviews on the trigger.
Mine is bone stock. If I were younger I'd install the Apex. I need the little extra resistance of the stock trigger. It's not a hard trigger to learn al all. It has a clean if heavy break. Hope this helps.

    Maybe so.

But the other guns you mention run just as well as a Glock and parts are available as well. So the Glock doesn’t really have an advantage.

You can claim aftermarket parts, but if you are lightening the trigger your own logic about fit applies. You probably need to practice fundamentals.

So why not spend money on the gun that fits your hand given equal reliability and the odds being that you will never actually need any parts aside from mags and maybe a preferred set of sights, which are available for just about any gun you choose.

I think you missed my point. Cheap Parts I’m talking about are OEM stuff like springs, mags, etc. also thinking about sights & holsters...

The OP mentioned his spouse wasn’t working and he was trying to keep it as “cheap as possible”. Hard to get anything quality as cheap as a sub $300 LEO trade in G22.

Of course, he may find an M&P or Sig trade in cheap, but Glock’s are much more available on any given day. And while I admit the ergonomics could be better, it ain’t hard to get used to them if you shoot them a while...
