No, I am recommending that he not carry when he is most likely to encounter a non sympathetic LEO.

Try to remember That IANAL and am giving my OPINION, not legal advice.

I am confused, what exactly is a "non sympathetic LEO?!?"

Texas peace officers know the law and enforce it, so there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that he cannot or should not legally carry in his vehicle until such time he gets his LTC and can do so on his person!

Carrying concealed in your vehicle is not illegal. Cops know this.

What happens when you are asked to step out of the vehicle and you have it strapped on your belt? I think what he's trying to say is carry it IN your car, NOT on your person.

    Hello to all correspondents !

    I gave my OPINION above.

That OPINION was formed from and based on decades of life experiences.

You are very free to ignore, agree, disagree, comment, criticize, or throw a fit.

You are also very free to state your own opinion.

Yes, I’m very aware of potential legal consequences.

For decades, I have taught “Decision Making” to highly educated folks who must make life-or-death decisions under stressful situations in which there are no perfect or even good choices.

If you can offer better advice, please do so.

Well, what other non-existent laws are you afraid of?

The point people are making is that there is zero legal basis for the "advice" or "opinion" you gave. In fact, it is in complete contradiction of the law. There is no requirement for a person to leave their weapon off their body when carrying in conjunction with the MPA. Secondly, your claim of "non sympathetic LEO(s)" is so ridiculous that it does even warrant discussion. It insinuates that the police are either ignorant of the law or operate beyond it, neither of which are true. I can attest from firsthand experience when the MPA and OC both became legal, there was sufficient education conducted during department in-service training prior; and since both have become law, incidents involving either have been few and far between. In fact, to support your "opinion," I formally request you provide evidence to support your accusations.

There is an old, wise adage that goes "just because you have an opinion doesn't necessarily mean you need to share it!" Or even more more adeptly, "better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt!"

In other words, if one's opinion is tantamount to bad advice; then do us all a favor and keep it to yourselves!

Well, you can conceal it in your vehicle anyway you want. If you get stopped keep your hands on the steering wheel and do what you are asked to do.

It appears to me that we have a person here on TGT so expert & brilliant that not only should his opinions override those of others, but that opinions not agreeing with his should bot be tolerated or even allowed.

Please advise that person to get anger management treatment.

Gee, do you overreact to everything?

I don't need anger management, but what you need is a clue!

Bad information is bad information no matter if it's someone opinion or not. People join this information to gain knowledge, and incorrect comments like yours could lead someone to believe something that is simply inaccurate.

Remember, the First Amendment only protects your right free speech from the government. You don't have a "right" to anything on here, and honestly it would be in everyone's best interest if such incorrect opinions as you have spouted are removed as to not cause confusion.

Maybe stick to watching Murder, She Wrote or Perry Mason, but your ignorance of the law should be a private matter, not a public one!

Look, if you seek LEGAL advice, consult a licensed Texas Attorney.

    “Fear”? Hardly

I’m just an Old Man with an i-Pad & experience. You guys all seem to be the Law Professors.

    leVieux

Telling people to not carry while driving because a Peace Officer could stop them and order them out of the car and then bust them for unlawful carry is just ignorant and silly.
