Today, I tried to load some Acme 125 PC bullets.

I was having fits getting the fit right. Good chance it was due to a mixture of the e bullet and the Lee die. I used to load everything with this die using the powder through expander. It looks a lot like the Hornady one but is a far cry from the expander plug in the Hornady die set which is more like this "\/", instead of like this"||" almost.

I won't buy a new die set just to load some funky shaped bullets.

I wonder if anyone else can share thoughts on the Lee powder through expander?

Still waiting for a clear day to see how many 223 rounds I can get loaded before a major press-related disaster.
It the expander not belling the case properly or enough?

Never had an issue with my Lee dies.

My son in law is almost in Texas now so I'm thinking the 650 for cheap is gone but I had a blast using my Redding t7.

I went to the range this morning to try out my 357 mag loads from earlier in the week.
They didn't fit so back home I went. I reloaded them this evening using my t7 and it was so much easier than switching stations in my Lee classic cast.

‘MailMan, after using my T7 I may pass on adding any other presses due to space restrictions.

If you look at my pics that romantoo posted for me when I get rid of some shelving units I may look back into adding a 650 at the right price.

I've never had any issues with my powder through expander Lee dies either. Like any other belling die, it doesn't take much.

It does take some time to get it right though and doing it quickly, trying not to sweat all over everything and not working on a single stage press is necessary for success.

Yesterday afternoon I turned on the a/c, did something else for an hour or two then inboxed the T7 and started. This is what made me consider not getting the 650, along with having it personally delivered cancelled out. I don’t know how well the seller could pack it etc.

Finally loaded up some test loads for my Howa 1500 mini action 6.5 grendel last night. Waiting on a scope I bought to arrive. Scored an Athlon Argos BTR 8-34x56 with vortex rings for $200.

I had mounted a spare 1-4x I had on it, but I think it's silly to run test loads on a scope that I am just going to put back on an AR as soon as the other arrives.

Unloaded first batch of test loads on my Howa 1500 mini in 6.5 grendel with a 20" barrel. Imr 8208 xbr behind 123 sierra hpbt, in mixed hornady/winchester/unknown converted 7.62x39 brass w/cci small rifle primers.

Scope is a new to me Athlon Argos BTR 8-34x56.

    All at 100 yards.

I'm amazed, and pleased, at how well this thing shoots. Next I'm going to load 26.6 to 27.4 in .2gr increments, and also another batch of .5 incremented loads but with 130g noslers.

Scored some powder from my neighbor today. He had 15lbs of CFE pistol he was wanting to sell, so I bought 10lbs @ $15lb. Then he ended up GIVING me the other 5lbs, plus 1lb of CFE223, 4LBS of Longshot, 2lbs of Accurate 4064, 1lb of accurate 4350 & 1lb of Accurate 5744. He's definitely getting a Christmas Card this year.

You can get custom size powder-through expanders for cast bullets from Lee.
