Wasn’t sure exactly where to post this, but here goes! My garage freezer where I keep all my deer and hog meat, bit the dust several months ago, and it was a clean up experience I never want to go through again, not to mention the loss of the delicious sausage! Gonna grab another freezer this week before I go hunting, and want to get some type of monitoring system that will let me know the temp. There are several on Amazon, but I wanted to see if anyone on here has experience with one they recommend.

My only experience is similar to yours - opening a freezer that stopped working.

A late Friend once had a worse disaster.

His banker-buddy called that there was a foreclosure on a locally-famous Cajun foods company, and he could get a truckload of frozen crawfish pies & other delicacies for $500.

Friend was packng for a 3 week trip to France. He ordered 2 new upright freezers, had them plugged into his carport electric outlet, loaded the stuff in, & departed for Europe.

Neighbor’s curious dog got behing the freezers, tangled in cords, and pulled both plugs.

    Three weeks later, there was a horrible surprise waiting. . . . . . .

I have an AcuRite one with two sensors that works OK. I should find them and put them back in (after a move).

I have a GE Freezer in my shop that has a display on the door for temperature with an alarm if it gets warmer that it is supposed to. I will get the model number when I go out there later. It goes down to -6°F. So far I like it. It is, however, an upright, not a chest freezer. I think I got it at Costco.

EDIT: MINE IS 17.SOMETHING CUBIC FEET, THERE IS ALSO A 21.SOMETHING VERSION...

    Check out GoVee.

I use Wyze Home Monitoring that also does temperature (as well as leak, video, door sensors, etc.), but Govee gets good reviews, too.

I use a Govee sensor that has an app with alerts. I only have one so far but the app can be setup for multiple rooms and locations to monitor. It can alarm on temps and humidity if you like. I keep mine in my cigar humidor but a freezer is also a good choice to monitor.
