I am 90% sure they are called something else, but it's what I started calling mine. Does anyone else keep a bag in your truck with things would help you get home in a disaster situation?
If you do, what do you keep in yours? I am looking to maybe streamline or add to mine.

I keep my GHB in my truck box. I check it once a year to rotate out the ammo and batteries. It's a bit heavy, but I can offload what I don't want or need as I go. I figure I can walk home from my workplace in about 8 to 24 hours, depending on how much evading I need to do and how dangerous conditions get.

Nope not at all I just have a good sense of direction. It pisses my whole family off especially when I would go hunting in other states by myself.

Remember Thomas guides? That was my navigation just incase things didn't work out quite well in the 70s.

Yep, been carrying a GHB for 10 years or so and occasionally I throw the MP5K or 300 blk pistol when the world gets a little more frisky.

    Mostly medical
    Tourni
    boo boo kit
    stainless bottle
    water pouches
    Life straw
    lighter
    torch
    battery bank
    pop charger
P30 40 back up pistol, extra mag
    Extra 300 blk mag
    multi tool
    cash, low denominations

Need to add a Frogtog light weight rain coat and light weight bivi sack, might throw some raft rations back in there since my others expired by quite a bit, and I'm done with it. I'll probably put together a trauma pack IFAK for the truck too, need one in there.

We got out the bug out box my wife put together years ago. I confiscated the ammo, I think she may use the food she had stashed. Don't think we are going anywhere.
Im all about Bugging In, I just like to make sure I can get back to the fort to collect the wife. If it gets really bad, we have Bug OUT bags to make way to my Pop's. All good from there.

I believe the contents of your bag will reflect what disaster you are preparing for or expecting.

I.e. if you’re planning for an EMP/solar flare, your contents will very different in some regards then if you’re planning on blizzard/hurricane/tornado etc.

Do you have a scenario you were preparing a get home bag for?

Personally I wouldn't scenario plan. Plan for your area or conditions, but scenario planning can catch you off guard when something else happens.

If you plan in general and reflect that in your GHB, it's harder put a kink in your lack of preparations. In other words: pack stuff that will be useful in most scenarios.

That's just my opinion on it though.
