I got a sweet deal on a 500ct box of 168gr SMKs. I've read some conflicting opinions on using them. Mainly stuff about moly trapping moisture in rifling and that it's a pita to clean out. I figured I'd commit to them if I can clean a rifle and run them straight through with no naked bullets mixed in. Norma had an interesting technical breakdown that indicated no real pluses or minuses.

It seems that many have moved on to danzak or hBn coating instead. Allegedly it reduces pressure allowing hotter loading. I'd be running them in a 20" barrel so I'm not looking to push them beyond a few hundred yards. Curious if anyone here has already gone down this rabbit hole and can shed some light. TIA

I've been shooting moly bullets since they were invented.
If you have a favorite load and switch over to coated you may need to readjust your recipe.
