Does anyone have experience using this powder in the .300 BLK? I’m basically looking for recommendations for a powder. I’m just about to start loading the .300 BLK and the only powder I have right now for it is H110 and Win. 296, and not much of either of them. Natchez has free hazmat for 2 days and I can’t afford to buy several different powders. I’ll be loading the 110 gr. Hornady V-Max to start. I read somewhere that LilGun works well also. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I found cfe blk to be too gassy and loud in subsonic use, I have heard good things about 1680. For now I am just using up some older magnum powders I have. As for cfe blk I now just use it to load 7.62x39

Thanks for the info. I'm not planning to shoot subsonic right now, but this gives some idea what it's like. I'll try a different powder for now.

L'lgun, H110, CFE Black, 2400, 1680 all work. All give about same fps, L'lgun and CFE Black are lower pressure. For the Vmax I use 110/296. Never tried L'lgun.

For non-subs at weights under 200gr, h110/296 (same powder) are great and lil gun will do well too. Once you break that barrier for weight or want subs then the 1680/CFE are better choices.

Using H110 for 300Blk using 125g bullets. Really happy with it.

Also use it in at least two other rounds. It’s a very versatile powder.

I'm beginning to find that out. Doing my research for the .300, I'm coming across a lot of info about H110. You can load it in a lot of different rounds. I used to have a Ruger Super Redhawk .454 casull that loved that stuff!

Just got a pound of Lilgun to try last week, loaded some vmax and ftx with it. Hodgdon data says I loaded to the min, comments are they increased the load data. I've heard that it heats barrel more than H110/W296. I wasn't impressed with BLK or 1680. 4227/rl7 were just OK and slower fps.
