Yeah, the cartels are supposedly accumulating .50 BMG rifles to outgun the cops/feds. That'll just give the commies in congress another reason to try to ban them.

Don't have anything more than what DMN reported but a companion article to the above stated;

Experts on gun violence say Texas is a top destination for illegal arms traffickers because assault rifles are not banned like they are elsewhere in the U.S.​

And another DMN article cites the semi-auto M249 SAW and Barrett. 50 cal rifle as preferred guns bought by cartels.
