Came out of Walmart, car wouldn't start, bad battery. Guy walking by asked if I needed a jump. He came back with one of those powerful jump boxes. I was impressed, found one on sale and had to have one. During one of the cold snaps my friends Corvette wouldn't start, put the jumper on and he was back in business.

I own a GB70 and GB155x the 155 is rated to start up to a 10.0L diesel but it loses charge after 3 or 4 jumps on a large engine and takes forever to charge unless you buy their better charging cable. Naturally they don't include it. True professional equipment and my GB70 is kinda weak now but was impressive for over 3 years. Some retired welding cables make great jumpers too.

This is the box we used for over a decade when I was towing, and the same boxes we kept in the battery service trucks in the company I used to co-own.

They make stronger boxes but these worked to start any gas motor out there no matter how dead the battery was, short of the battery actually having a short in it. We'd typically get about 30 typical AAA calls before needing to recharge it. Kept one in each tow truck, and two in each battery service truck.

The company offers a rebuilt service for your old boxes, you can ship them in, get them refurbed, and they give you a coupon for either a discount on another box, or to apply to your next rebuild. That was nice. I think we had about a dozen and a half of these things.

I hate to say, most of them are so cheaply made these days, your better off making some from bulk 2 ga cable. I've had countless customers call me out saying their car wouldn't start with jumper cables. Popped on my noco booster pack and they fire right up. Usually it's the crappy clamps with a chicken shit chunk of copper only on one side of the clamp, coupled with thin gauge Chinese cable with insulation so thick you think it's heavy cable but it's 8 or 6 gauge at best.

    Yep!

I finally spring for HEAVY cables to pack in all of our family vehicles. Junk is just that....junk

    I don't recommend this, but....
Once upon a time I had a cute girl stay over. In the morning her jeep wouldn't start because she left the radio on. I didn't have a pair of Jumper cables around or any thick gauge wire. I decided to use an old PS2 controller. I cut the wire in half stripped the ends and clamped them onto my trucks battery terminals, while I held the other ends onto her battery terminals. That controller wire nearly went up in flames when she cranked her jeep over. It started though and she got herself the hell out of my place. Best use of an old PS2 controller I've ever had. Okay maybe a little San Andreas was a better use at the time. Still I'm shocked that it worked.

    So.....you jumped her?
