“The Idaho Senate on Tuesday passed a resolution that calls for gun suppressors to be regulated like guns.

Senate Joint Memorial 104 would urge the U.S. Congress to pass the Hearing Protection Act, a bill supported by Idaho’s U.S. Sens. Jim Risch and Mike Crapo that regulates suppressors like firearms.

The Idaho Senate passed the resolution on a 30-5 vote, with five Democrats opposing. It now heads to the Idaho House for consideration.”

BTW, despite draconian gun restrictions in New Zealand, people there still can buy suppressors from baskets at the hardware stores’ cash registers, for about $20-$50.

Regulated like guns??? They are already harder to get than guns.
I can walk into a store and walk out with a new shiny gun in 15 minutes. Can't do that with a suppressor.

Nevermind, I clearly didn't read it.

Exactly! That’s why ID wants to make purchases of suppressors as easy, as guns - same day, no f* “stamps” will be paid and no BJ will be given to ATF.
Reading the whole thing helps sometimes.

When Texas secedes, we just take parts of Colorado, New Mexico, most of Utah and all of Idaho with us. Cut off the left coasters from the east coasters, we get the Rocky Mountains. Throw in Oklahoma, Louisiana, western Kansas and Nebraska, Wyoming, the Dakotas.

What ever happened with Texas' efforts along these same lines?

For example, suppressors made in Texas could be purchased without a Federal tax stamp.

I know there was a thread about it a while back, I just can't remember the title.

The swamp on the Colorado swallowed it.

Still being fought out in the courts. I expect SCOTUS to eventually rule that Texas doesn't have "standing" like they did in the 2020 Election...
