    Taurus 92

I've had a Taurus 92 for many years and my son now has it. Great gun for the money and always reliable. There has been some talk about replacing the triangle shaped locking block under the barrel after a high round count, but the gun we have has no telling how many rounds thru it and is still perfect and tight as new.

I had to replace the one on my PT99 after well over 5k rnds, the gun was bought used before my friend had it and he put over 5k rnds before the gun came to me. It cost me little over $8 to send it to Taurus and they sent me a new one. Still a great gun and no other issues. I beleive the only difference in the models is the type of sights

I heard they use the SAME factory that Beretta used to make them in Brazil.

That is all I wanted to add. I have a Beretta. Love it. Probably would buy a Taurus for a cheaper price, but you'd have to deal with all the Taurus bashing.

The Beretta Co. sold all their machinery to Taurus years ago and Taurus used all the knowledge to make the 92 and 99 Pistols . The 92 has fixed and the 99 has adjustable sights, and the line of course has expanded to 40S&W also, called the 100 series. I have a Taurus 605 2" 357mag snub that also shoots like a dream and I wouldn't hesitate to compare it to a Smith snub.

I like taurus, I have a 357 mag model 66 and a pt1911ar none have given me any problems.

Well I guess the model 92 goes on my list after the ar-15 I want and various medical bills I still have to pay.:(

I have had good results. I did have a grip screw back out and get lost once, but Taurus in Miami sent me a replacement for free. No other repair issues at all.
