A quick short story on Mondale.

A good friend from my HS class moved to Houston, became a Houston cop, got more degrees, then moved into the Secret Service. For years when we saw him all we knew was "he's in the Secret Service".

Some time back he retired and at a reunion I talked to him and he could finally open up. Seems he was usually assigned to VP's. He said once VP Mondale had to use Carter's limo, the only one at the time that had a car phone. Mondale got on the phone and called all his friends and family, acting like a kid with a new toy.

My buddy said that Mondale was a total jerk.

He also said that the Bushes were some of the best people he ever knew, treated all of them with respect, not like some of the wild stories about the Clintons.
