Hello all, I am new to shooting sports and am intrested in learning about, and shooting IDPA. I currently have a Kimber Pro Raptor and 2 mags. I have only put 100 rounds through it. Did I say newbie! By way of this great forum, I have been offerd some guidance from gladi8r ( thanks G. )as he is local to me. I am just curious to see / hear what you use to shoot, and your other gear, for these events. Any advice to help get me started would be awesome. If I have posted this in the wrong section, please feel free to move it, and my apologies. Thanks in advance.

Besides my high speed low drag tacticool clothes...

I use Comptac for IDPA. Little pricey but very common when you attend this event.

I used 2 sigle Mag so I can adjust their location and I can use one when I'm carrying/CHL.

Any regular baseball cap, good shooting glasses (Oakley for me) and any tennis shoes will do. Good Luck.

    Big country,

ARC/Austin Rifle Club just opened up their IDPA event here in Austin http://www.austinrifleclub.org/. I suggest visit the site if you are interested.

    CALI, nice post!

I just run my carry gear.

This is probably the best answer...Shoot IDPA just like you would when you're carrying.

I've been very successful using these brands (above) and I have both IWB & OWB holsters that is why I highly recommend it.

    Thanks...

Comp-Tac Paddle holster and Comp-Tac single mag pouches here as well. Pistol is a Beretta 92FS Vertec. For shoes I really like trail running shoes. They look like normal tennis shoes but have a very aggressive tread on them. 5.11 vest because the stiff sides make it easier to sweep out of the way. Baseball cap, Oakleys, and cheap cargo pants cover the rest of my gear.
