Could someone explain the support for Polanski, please.

I have read an article or two about people voicing their support of Polanski.

Now, it seems pretty obvious that this man drugged, made drunk, raped, and sodimized a 13 year old girl.

I don't see him denying it.

Why do people want him to be left alone? Why do people watch his movies?

I thought that we were pretty much on the same page on the whole raping children thing. Even the far left don't support this kind of immorality.

Do they think he was framed? Do they just not care? Is it in style to protect people who deserve to die in a puddle of their own blood?

Could someone please help me out on this one. I really just don't get it.
