Gun-Toting Soccer Mom, Husband Shot Dead - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com

As I post this I am deeply saddened. I first met Melanie on the OCDO board during her case in Lebanon, PA where she freely & legally exercised her right to OC. From there she fought the good fight under heavy scrutiny from the antigun camp.

Condolences to the family and I can only pray for her children who witnessed "Daddy shot mommy!". It was no secret Melanie and her husband Scott had been having marital problems, and they went deep. From dependable accounts from those who knew her, Melanie wanted out but feared her husband. She knew something was coming.

The antigun people are already spinning this, twisting it to fit their agenda. Poor Melanie hasn't been laid to rest yet and people are already attacking her good name.

    RIP Melanie

so sad, wish she could have gotten a shot off

I was upstairs working on some holsters and this is running through my mind. I wonder how it happened, you know, to be a fly on the wall. I don't think we'll ever know. Who knows what the kids saw, or what they can even recall. I wonder if Melanie saw it developing. I wonder if she was able to react. So many questions. Not sure if the answers matter, just really to answer how. We know the why. The husband just had evil in his heart to do what he did.

I keep running through my head what will I do, will I be able to get gun into battle fast enough or will I need to deploy edged weapon first, create distance and go to guns. I know distance, awareness, ability to react timely, number of attackers and countless other factors will come into play and you will never know til that "God forbid" moment arrives.

I try to mentally role play scenarios, practice drawing, I try to keep conscious of where my gun is at all times in reference to people I talk to, or as people approach me and always try to keep alert.

    WTF

TxEMTP69, I hope your entry was a joke. You sound like an absolute loon. If that was serious, you are the poster child for gun control.

i do that all the time. I make practice runs and mentally rehearse goin for my guns (sometimes i practice with my knife) starting from different places in my house, thinkin what I should do depending on where the intruders enter the house from. my family calls me paranoid, lol.

I do that all the time too. But I also keep an eye on my wife because she's always carrying. Things always get a little tense for a few days every month, lol. She likes to walk around in slippers so I taught the dog to bark when she's moving around so she can't sneak up on me. My doctor calls me paranoid, lol. And delusional :)

Okay, WTF's going on here. There was nothing in TxEMPT post that was offensive. Just a guy wondering how a dangerous situation went down. Let's hear your diatribe.

Yeah, but a first post n00b has no business coming into a forum and spouting off.

And this one post is all "Andrew" has contributed for signing up at TGT.
