Well.....maybe not "Nothing".... rather what was too small to see.... I had to work in South Texas again this week, and seeing that there is a 800 yd shooting range there, I brought along the .50 to enjoy a little recoil after the days work. Nice plan, except for that sometime Tuesday afternoon, I picked up something in my right eye. Didn't seem like a big deal at first, so I just washed it out well and went about my business. It was only Tuesday, I still had 2 more afternoons to shoot. Well you guessed it. Whatever was in there, was still there. Ended up working through this morning, then headed back home, and to the Dr. He says "nothing there, must have scratched it" and my daughter, being the loving daughter she is, took some pictures to remember the day. Thanks Kat....

Ouch. Hope you get over that quickly. My wife had a scratch on her cornea from a bad contact lens a few years ago and was absolutely miserable for a few days, couldn't even open the eye. The small things can sometimes be the most painful.

Working in a machine shop for many years I have suffered with many scratched eye balls and one minor surgery to remove a piece of non magnetic material once.
I feel for ya and wish a quick recovery.
Lets hope it does not leave you with "trailers" - little ghost lines in your vision. They suck in bright light!!!!
    Take care!!!!

I was installing acoustic ceiling tiles one time. Some of the dust was left on my hat and worked its way into my eye six hours later. After 3 hours in the ER they took that little f@%#er out, and now I have a trailer (floater). PITA. Good luck with the recovery.

Man 'o man, tell me about it. Had a piece of bronze get me in the eye and they had to go in and it was very, very unnerving. Had to wear a patch for a week. And with new nicknames like Patchy the Pirate (Spongebob) and One Eyed Willy, I used a face shield when cleaning off parts instead of my usual safety glasses only.

    Rock on!

I used to weld for a living I've cut em open twice, burned em many times, scratched em, and had to get things taken out of them, including a stubborn little chunk of chain saw blade on one occasion. I feel your pain, Gods speed on your recovery.
Now hows gonna operate that 50 while you're down I'd like to volunteer, don't want it getting lonely!

Does potato juice work for random scratches or just staring at the pretty welding arc? haha

Get well soon! Try a saline rinse up your nose (put some salt in a cup of water, no need for the fancy nasal sprays that cost an arm and a leg at the RX store). That will stimulate the tear ducts in your eyes and may help wash out whatevers in there.

All I have to do is think about shootin saline up my nose and my eyes tear up... does not sound comfy, I know it prob does not have any pain associated, just doesn't sound nice

lol They key is to not breath through your nose when you do it :p

It's a good releif for allergies and sinus congestion. It does hurt when you hit a spot, you can feel the sinus passages opening up and then you get the brain burn. Like when you get salt water up your nose at the beach. It a similar effect.

The past few years I've discovered this as I've tried to get some allergy relief without the drugs. I can't afford to be doped on Benadryl and Claritin is insanely expensive. I hate meds anyway.

Oh, for the strength of the solution, don't make it so salty you need tequila and lime to go with it. It should be a similar to tears. So, light salt :D

The only really funny thing, is my daughter thought it would be "cool" for halloween... the whole hose comming out of the eye part. I told her it wasn't as fun as it looked. Thanks for the "get well" wishes. The eye actually feels a little better today. Still watering like crazy, but not as painful. Don't worry Big Country, the Big 50 won't be lonely for long.... I had installed a new muzzle brake and was hopeing to try it out. Have about 30 rounds loaded up and ready to go... I might have to take it to Lone Star Range just to get my "fix". I'll let ya know when I get ready to go....that is if ya ain't skeert of a lil' ol' .50 MG
