So, if your gun is drawn and someone starts rushing, instead of shooting immediately, you do some awkward switch and hope the blade actually lock before you raise up the gun and attempt an extremely short range knife strike?
That sounds like a great idea. Hopefully the guy rushing you has tiny T-Rex arms.
The blade's in the wrong place. The only way I could see a thing like that would be if it could be utilized in pistol whipping. If your that close why go through all that? Plus I would want to keep my firearm oriented correctly. Hence the pistol whipping. Seems to putting the blade on the bottom is not even really ergonomic in nature.

attacking you, why not just SHOOT tha bastid? There's too many folks out
there that are over-thinking this stuff!
