After as much research as i could stand, I decided on a IWI Jericho 941 steel-frame .45 mid size. For those of you not familier with it, The Jericho 941 is the latest production version of the "baby eagle" (this has no relation to the desert eagle)

    The biggest selling points were:
    - light trigger in DA
    - Half-cocked hammer option
    - Price (paid $575 for it brand new) Compared to the ~$1000 SIG and HK guns i was looking at as contestents

    here's what it looks like

Shiloh's doing the FFL for me. I should get it on thursday...just in time for IDPA

That's O.K., radioflyer. We all make mistakes sometime in our lives. I'm sur e the second .45 you buy will be a 1911.

Lol..the gun is only as good as the shooter.

...that being said my experience shooting on a consistant basis is about 6 months....

    careful with those .45 rounds.
i made the mistake of throwing one across the room to a buddy, who was wearing a bunch of rings.
blew three of his fingers clean off.

    Careful.
We all know that Global warming (or is it freezing) is caused by .45 auto.

    It's a joke.

I'm just playing off the mentality that .45 will cut a battleship in half from 800 yards out.
Are you trying to tell me that the 20k rounds of CC BPD AMMO (Concealed Carry Battleship Personal Defense Ammunition) is no good??? I'd like to know your source buddy! I guess you will try to tell me next that the STI GP6 isn't the worlds finest self cleaning, self lubricating, self -repairing pistol. And that it doesn't give you a massage when you have finished shooting. And that the Noble Prize on my coffee table wasn't earned by my GP6. Tall tales you have there my friend...

I have access to exclusive top secret Delta Force schemata that clearly outline that no caliber less than .48 caliber but no greater than .485 shall be used in defense by small unit operations when engaged by enemy battleships on a Wednesday falling on a half moon and under the direct order's from ARFCOM SOCOM OPSFOR FOB CQNCC 9 Directive IIa-Sub Section Tango Tango Nancy Niner Hut-Hut.

If only you shot as many rounds as me, you would know that.

I personally only use a GP6 under the call-sign "Snake Shit Thunder Wagon" in deep dark ops when I need the utmost in lethality, reliability, sexiness, contour fit, Corinthian leather, machismo, rear window louvers, and shear badassness. In fact, last week I killed 82 Lithuanians with a single shot from Poland while reading a Russian newspaper in a French-German Anglo native accent, in Swahili whilst juggling 8 running chainsaws and performing a 10K Maintenance II on my BMW.

Thanks to the GP6's extremely precision, self-lubricating, self-repairing action, and stealth trigger (keep that under wraps), I was able to fire a single 9mm round into geosyncronis orbit, off of Sputnik IV, and melting upon re-entry and fusing with nearby CFC's to form a .45 caliber depleted uranium match ballistic armor steel series bullet, aka DUMBASS, which then proceeded to decimate a small lithuanian village. There were no survivors and after piecing together the bodies, the total arm, leg, and orbital socket count led to an unofficial body count of 1,042 people, but only 82 were confirmed to date.

I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. I slept in the entrails of 16 pigmy Iranians that I gutted with a 25 cent Chinese chewtoy after fighting off 20 ft. tall gnome people high on methamphetimies, like meth ... only stronger, thanks to a 2.5 hour mushroom binge and a gangreneous wound from my epic fight with Chuck Norris where I kicked him to death using a leg I ripped off of a horse named Shirley.

Now if you don't mind I'm going to finish cutting my new ivory knuckles from a femur bone I ripped out of a live bull elephant with my bare hands.

Wow. Interesting technique and excellent shooting my friend. But my BS meter shot to condition red when you said the horses' name was Shirley...Everybody knows horses don't have names...
