I got a box of 100 rnds Winchester S&W .40 at Wally World today for 28.00 (27.97). The same box at Academy was around 32.00.

Remington .22-250 at WW was 17.97 for 20 rnds. Academy said that they hadn't had any .22-250 for 4 months. My local Ace Hardware has them in stock all of the time for about the same price as WW. Ballistic tips are a little higher.

Academy had the best price on a Ruger 10/22 at 189.00, (now the proud owner of one). At the Ft. Worth gun show last weekend the lowest priced 10/22 I found was 240.00

I realize there are cheaper prices for ammo on-line, but I was out and about and went a head and picked some stuff up.

Which Wally World, because ours here in Wichita Falls still seem pretty bare...

Waco Texas, Hewitt Dr. While they had what I needed, I wouldn't say they were fully stocked. Academy ha a lot of empty spaces on their shelves.

I have had good luck at my local Ace Hardware. There are a couple in my area that sale guns and ammo, both at reasonable prices.

That isnt far from where I used to live a longgg time ago...My mother still lives right off of Panther Way.

I just came back from McAllen and stopped in some of the local stores, i.e. WW, Academy, and they are all stocked up in ammo. I also stopped at the Cabela's in Buda and in DFW and they have more 45 ACP ammo on the shelves than I have seen in a year. .380 ammo is still scarce, and all I saw was Buffalo Bore on the shelves.

Wal Mart definitely has the best prices that I've seen, but they never seem to have what I'm looking for (mostly 9mm and .45ACP). I usually find what I'm looking for at Academy for a couple bucks a box more, but I still check WM just in case.

Recently ammo stock at W. M. has been a lot better. For the 1st time in a long time (before BHO was anointed) I passed on buying some 9mm ammo at W. M. since I am pretty well stocked up.
Academy usually only has 50 round boxes of Monarch pistol ammo, when they have any, with a four box limit. I never see WWB in 100 round boxes at Academy. Their prices on guns are usually much better than other local gun sellers. The trick is, they have to have what you happen to be looking for. They don't special order guns from the distributors.
We used to have a Sportsmans Wearhouse close to my house (I live in Frisco and it was in Lewisville) but it closed for some reason. I really miss having a good local sports store that actually has some gun related merchandise.

Yeah, at WM they didn't have any 9mm or .45ACP that I saw. I am always looking for .45Long Colt for my Judge, and it is usually rare.

And for what it is worth, the WM in Bellmeade Tx (Waco) still sales guns. I haven't been to it yet, but one of my co-workers was telling me about it.

My buddy did call me up the other day and tell me that they had .45 ACP in stock, but by the time I got there, there wasnt anything left. So of course, being a day late and a dollar short, I just went back home.

Walmart in Brownwood had Win. HP and Remington UMC in .45 this week. Did not have but a few boxes of either. I don't think they ever get a full case of anything. I also picked up 1000 Win. LP primers at a local sporting goods store this week.
