The porting keeps the recoil to a minimum. I like it. There are pros and cons I suppose, but all in all I'd rather be on the pitching side than the catching side. It has always fed flawlessly and my wife has its identical twin and she has had no trouble wielding it. She does prefer a S&W revolver though.
