Just moved here from NY (best thing I ever did BTW) and am looking for a good gun shop in the 77090 area. Longtime shooter and sometime hunter.

Tomball Pawn off 2920 has some of the best pricing around. Republic Arms, off 34th, has some good pricing. Academy has good pricing. Collector's Firearms off of Richmond is around $100 more on most guns, but they have a HUGE selection and unique items.

    Another Question,

Is gunbroker worth it to buy over? I see the same handguns cycle through someone wants a crazy amount for. I use it to browse prices for what I want. For example I want a Beretta M9, or M9A1(with the rail) (would like the army edition really) . But add to that shipping, then the FFL transfer fee. Seen the Army edition NIB for 700, Standard M9 for 650, and the M9A1 never seen on Gun Broker. Being from a unfriendly firearm state originally (NY) I dont know if these are worth the price or not.

Sometimes you can find really good deals, sometimes not. Research what you want and what you are willing to pay. If its above your price, move on and keep looking. Good luck and welcome to TX

Also, don't ever try to do a transfer through Tomball Pawn. You'll wait 4 days, won't get them to respond, and end up going somewhere else anyway.

Apparently, you have to drool your order on their counter. Phone, fax, email, and in person intelligent conversation, won't work.

EDIT: I shop there for price only
