Car stereo work is pretty easy to do yourself if you have some basic mechanical ability. What is the make, model, and year of your car?

Absolutely that counts. If you have a few simple tools you should be able to do this. Screw drivers, wire strippers/crimpers, and a multimeter are all you should really need. Do you know if the other speakers are working and just not hooked up, or are they possibly blown.
hmmm.. i dunno.. but i was thinking.. since i was gonna do this and run the wires and all that i might as well get new speakers.. newegg.com has these on sale right now..
