Just got back from the Houston show. I think in general I saw better prices at the Pasadena show in Oct.

There was a ton of ammo for sale and NO one was buying!

These guys have not clued in that prices are dropping. There was about 40% mark-up compared to what you can find online or wally world or even academy.

Of everyone would stop buying ammo for a little bit, prices would go back to normal. Looks like that maybe happening now.

I saw the same thing and was not surprised.

    Handgun FMJ > Wally World
    Handgun SD > online
    Rifle > online

I go to the shows now days just to see if there is anything new or different and have no 'special' expectations on price.

I cant seem to get lucky enough to find any ammo at Wally World.
Academy is always my best bet for target ammo "fmj"

Every Wally I've been to in the last month has had boxes, and boxes, and boxes of 9mm and .40 if you use those.

Same here. I haven't had a problem getting .40 or .223 the last couple of times I have been to Wal-mart. I don't know if this factors in or not, but I'll swing by when I get off work (0700).

Ya'll must be lucky. I tried 2 in the bellaire area, and one down by clear lake. got a total of 3 boxes of 9mm from all them combined. Must have been right before a shipment (I hope)

I normally check along I-45 and 290 since they all have a 6 box limit. Seems every store along 59 has a 2 box limit.

I've noticed Cheaper Than Dirt has been constantly out of stock on alot of stuff for well over a year now. You will still some some good deals there while they last.

The guys that irritate me the most are the ones who don't put any prices on their ammo... when they finally make it over to you to tell you that the WWB .45 100 rnd box is $49.00

is .380 acp & .45 acp still nearly extinct?

I can usually find .45 acp if I'm willing to pay $23+ a box. Carter's Country usually has some and Thunder Gun Range up near Conroe on 1314 usually has some.

Got lucky a few weeks back and found Federal FMJ at Walmart for $14.95 a box.

Got to get there fast. I went at lunch yesterday and the manager said a bunch of guys were calling and coming in that morning for ammo. He didn't know what was going. lol

    I got the last (3) 45 acp & (3) 9mm, sorry.

Try again in a few days.

i bought myself some 5.56 and some ak47 rounds from ammo to go and the prices were right in line with their online prices. maybe a couple bucks more overall , but youd spend that in shipping. and comparing it to the walmart prices on 223 it was cheaper, and wally world dont carry 7.62.

    ammotogo - 137.95 + shipping

    aimsurplus - 109.95

Good luck getting that at the next GR Brown show.

first let me say, i dont mean to sound rude and being new i dont want to step on anyones toes but...

brown bear from ammo to go is only 106.95 for 500, so yea with tax (if i was shipping) it woulda cost me 129.21 for a2g and 123.81 from aim (so yes uncle sams cut makes it cost more at a2g)...but since i bought at the show i guess it would have been like 117 or so including taxes making it cheaper then aim. but the biggest issue with this example? i wouldnt shoot brown bear ammo out of a sling shot, much less use it in my guns, i still have a box of 9mm i cant give away.. will never make that mistake again.

the point is there are deals everywhere, and if u do your homework before going to a show, walmart, or the local indy shop your gonna know what is an average cost per round and youll know when you price your ammo at a show, or else where if youre getting taken or not.

I'll use part of your response.........I don't mean to sound rude.........but does your keyboard not have a shift key? It may just be me but I find this type of Post hard to read.....one without any capital letters.
