Ok so I may go test fire a P2000SK tonight. When I called Reds in town they said they could order a USPc 9mm but all they had in stock was the P2000SK. He said he thought it was a better gun and that I should try it.

They have a rental one available to try so I may. It does lack a safety but with DA I think we can live with that.

Do you guys have any comments regarding the gun, specifically with how it compares with a USPc? Might as well throw the P2000 in there as well as it's probably closer in size to the USPc.

I own both and carried the USPc for about 8 years till I got the P2000SK. The USPc has a little over 40,000 trouble free rounds through it and the SK as about 6,000 trouble free rounds through it. You can't really tell much of a difference firing them other than the shorter grip on the SK (which does help conceal it a little). I can't tell any difference in accurracy in either. If you want to carry it I'd suggest the SK, but my father has the P2000 fullsize (if you want to call it that) that he carries daily and is the same size has the USPc. All three are great guns and I don't think you can go wrong with any, but I do like the interchangeable back straps on the P2000/SK for a more comfortable grip. Here's a pic of mine USPc (top)/P2000SK (botton) to get a feel for the size difference.

Thanks, that's the best picture I've seen of the comparison. I expected the USPc's barrel to look longer. I have small hands and my g/f's are even smaller so the SK may work. I'm going to try and shoot the regular 2000 and SK tonight and see.

Just fyi, even with small hands the 2000sk still has a small enough grip that you can only get 2 fingers around it as opposed to the typical 3 finger grip on mid-size and full-size guns. I just thought I should mention that as some people don't like the feeling of only being able to use 2 fingers (myself included).

Yeah that's what I've read. It's just going to be one of those things we need to try before we buy.

That's true I've got small hands and my pinky just hangs out below the grip. But it doesn't bother me at all as it's still easy to control with minimal recoil.

On a side note to that, my SK came with both mags having the finger groove on the base plate. As you can see in my pic I took a dremal to both and cut the finger groove off. I did this cause every time I fired with the finger groove on and sqeezed my pinky onto the grip (to have a full grip) my pinky would get pinched between the base plate and the bottom of the mag well. Since I cut them off my pinky just hangs out below the grip now with no problems.

I was curious about that, all the other pics have that inward piece. Looking at the pic, I feel I could three fingers in there, but I'm actually leaning towards the P2000 now. Unfortunately I cannot find a shop that has both in stock, but I've found two shops that have one of each.
