Some S.O.B. stole my truck!!

Long story short... Went out to eat last night, while eating, some SOB took off with my pickup. Did my usual, parked where I could see the truck from my table, locked all the doors. Looked up to check it around 8:00 it was still there...finished about 9:00 walked out to an empty spot...GRRR! Called the PD and they showed up in about 30 min. plenty of time for whoever to get farther away. Filled out their little cheat sheet and went home. Made all the calls this morning, insurance, bank, etc. They said they should call back in a couple of days. I'm sure that is as fast as they can operate...just venting... Biggest problem is I doubt the insurance will give what it will cost to replace the truck. It was in great shape, and got very good fuel mileage. Just pisses me off that some people out there have no regard for other peoples things. So if you see my truck running around, it ain't me....:1zhelp: MG

A friend of ours in Houston had their diesel 4x4 F250 stolen during a 10 minute HEB trip. The store cameras showed our friend going inside, then about 1 minute later, a guy comes up, does something to the door, gets inside and drives off. Several minutes later, she came out to an empty spot.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Theirs was a 7.3, so they really hated to see it go.

Big, That's the truck... '99 F-250 7.3 diesel, auto. Also, I hadn't unloaded some of the left over ammo from the shoot, so I lost that and my cleaning box. And the tools that I always carry....Still working on the total $$ lost. Thanks for all the extra eyes looking out for it. MG

Sorry to hear about your truck and I hope they catch the bastard. It sucks that the F350's are sooo easy to break into, we have had three of our work trucks stolen. Any idiot with a screwdriver can jack an F350.

Bummer dude,

When you get it back, put a switch in the truck somewhere that allows you to turn off the power to the fuel pump, they will not get far on the fuel in the filter.

The switch only needs to be a toggle switch that you turn off when you get out.

I am actually looking into using RFID chip and a RFID receiver. as long as the two are within 3 meters the truck will start

If I can figure out how to put the chip in my CC grip then I have it made...
of course I will have to put together a "bypass" in case I want to let it idle while I walk away I can.

Bummer. Hopefully it turns up. My friends car just got stolen and it turned up a week later in a parking lot with no damage whatsoever. Hopefully they just joyride and you get it back undamaged. People suck!

The thieves will take a screwdriver to the lock on the drivers side door and be in within 10 seconds on the Superduty's.

I have one and will be installing a rear door handle that does not have the keyhole...this will slow them down.

Well, talked to the insurance company again today. They said it would be 14 days until the "recovery period" passed, then another 15 to 30 days to make an offer to settle the claim. So I'm looking at another month without a truck. Went down and rented a pickup. At least I won't have to walk everywhere..MG
