I've carried 4 different pistols before I fell in love with my G26. What you have to remember is that the G26 is a carry gun, not a range gun. If I actually need it, I can shoot just fine with the two fingers on the grip. I easily hold a 4" group at 15yds. with mine, and that's plenty good enough to put someone down. Meanwhile, I get the advantage of carrying a pistol that is very comfortable to wear, and disappears in a decent holster.

Don't be dissin' my G26 lady!

G26 or 27 will probably be my next handgun purchase. Nice and lightweight, very concealable. Just having a hard time deciding between .40S&W and 9mm.

Not a clue. If it were me, I'd go 9mm. My concern would actually be the size of the grip and being able to hang onto it with all the fingers on there. A mag extension would make it pretty easy though.

Its smaller than my S&W 908 and I have a mag extension and wrapped tape around the butt and covered that with a slip on finger grip just so I could shoot it. Before I did all that I could put my index finger through the trigger guard and wrap it back to the safety.

Just compared to G26 to the M&P9c, they're are just about identical. The M&P is about .5 longer in the slide. The grip size is the same length. The M&P9c mags have the finger extension which ads just enough.

If your going to get a mag extension, it is just easier to get a Glock 19. The barrel is an inch long (I think), which isn't that big of a deal for IWB.

Just my 2 cents. And yes, even though that is a little guy, the 26 can get very nice groups at 15 yards.

Depends on the type of grip extension you get. Just compared the G19 to the M&P9c and the SW has the edge because of the shape. Think of a bobtailed 1911. The backstrap is still the same length, just the front edge is long enough for the finger. haha that sounded funny :p

I always thought that the idea of a really small gun was to be able to hide it on you're person. Once you start putting on mag extensions you're darn close to a compact.

My P2000SK was that way. I couldn't use the little finger extender that came with the gun, so I bought flat mag floor plates since the pinky wasn't going on the grip anyway. It was okay to shoot even thought it was a .40. Then I got the wise idea to get an XGrip adapter and use USP compact mags allowing for a full grip. While that work, the dang grip was actually longer than a P2000 so there was no advantage for carry. And some say, they use the XGrip for range and standard grip for carry. All well and good, but you should be shooting the gun as you carry it, or the range session less than ideal for enhancing your defense skills. So, although I liked the gun, I sold it and bought a P2000.

+1 The whole idea of the grip on the 26/27 is to be concealable. Once you start messing with the grip length, you give that up.

the 27 is a bit more to hang on too. I've shot my bro in law's G27, and promptly bought the G26.

Yuu dudes are crazy. I just said I compared it to the M&P9c with the grip extension and the grip frame is the same size. I could hide the M&P9c easy as pie. There's no way the 26 gets so big with an extension it becomes unconcealable.

    Off. Yer. Rockers.

    Don't make me take pictures!
