How many Fingure print cards do you need to send with your info to Austin?

Also, how much time do you get to mail in your CHL info before you have to retake the CHL class.

    Thanks for the help,

The kit gives you all you need, or better yet, a class that provides all the docs does too. Or search on the CHL site although info can be hard to dig out. Typical State web-site. :D

I think you have 6 months, but that shouldn't be a problem if you take the class with someone that provides all the docs, and you walk away with everything ready to mail

For a new CHL, you'll need 2 fingerprint cards; one for DPS and one for the FBI, both included in your packet. Renewals only require the blue FBI card. We are certified to do your prints, and they're included with your class.

    EDIT:

[And yes, you have 6 months following your class date to submit your packet to the state.] for a renewal. Two years for a new CHL, although I don't recommend waiting that long. In fact, I'd get it done before November!!!

    Thanks people,

Well to make a long story short, I'm out of state for two months and short a fingure print card. Is there a way I can get an extra Texas card Fedex'd to me and have a local LEO roll print me?

If this is a renewal you only need one card. On a renewal your TR100 is valid for six months from issue.

On an initial application, you need an FBI and a DPS fingerprint card. However, your TR100 is valid for TWO YEARS on an initial application.

You probably could. Most instructors have a few extras. However, I don't believe DPS will accept prints rolled by non TCLEOSE (Texas) agency.

This is true. If this is a renewal, you'll only need the FBI (blue) fingerprint card.

    Thanks for the info,

This is for a new CHL and not a renewal. Things got screwed up when I opted for the electronic printing. Their machine was broke and they told me some crap like they would mail me some cards when it got fixed. I guess the dude kept one of my cards. I called the company and they couldn't find me in their system. Anyhow, it doesn't look like I'm going to get anything done until I get back to Texas :(

In the mean time, I'm working on a CHL here in Arizona. We're also allow to open carry
