Any idea what year my Belgum Browning 12g magnum was made? S/N 73802 5v

It's an automatic I assume it's the A5

It doesn't match up with any of the numbers on Browning's website

The Auto-5 was not their only semi-auto. There is also the A500.

It's an Auto 5 - barrel says Browning arms Company St. Louis Missouri and Montreal PQ made in Belgium- 3" Magnum. Has ribbed barrel

If you can't match the serial number on their website, try calling them.

A couple of pictures of the shotgun would be helpful. Include both sides of receiver, serial number and other markings that you can find.

Coonnugget, if you're contemplating selling it, I might be interested (depending on condition). I need a 5th Auto-5 like I need a whole in the head, but 1965 is a sentimental year for me. LOL

I called Browning they told me it was made in 1965. I had him double check because it looks brand-new. He told me about the 5V underneath - 5 stands for 1965 & v is 12 gauge 3"

Pete - I understand. It is sentimental to me as well it is very similar to my late grandfather's old gun that my brother got after he passed away
