I see a few Kimber's for sale and was wondering if they are worth the extra cost. They seem to be a well made, nice looking gun with many upgrades. I am looking for a slim carry weapon in .40 or .45. These look like the ticket. I already like the 1911 style handguns and want one with a hammer and safety. I don't care for Glocks and that style. Definetly like to see the hammer cocked and the safety off, not guess. I have handled (well fondled) them at the gun shows and am thinking about an early Christmas present.

Have one and love it. Only carried it a few times due to it being a full frame, but its an aluminum frame and is still pretty nice.

I have a Raptor and although it has yet to be fired I love it dearly. I suppose that doesn't make sense, to some.

IMHO, they are worth every cent. I carry an UCII now that it's cooled off a bit (snow tomm?!?!?!) and love it .. no failures since new, one of my most accurate pistols ... give in ... you'll love it ..

When I was looking...I found that the Kimbers were acutally a good buy for the features they had. The TLE had frontstrap checkering and night sights for the same price as the Springer Loaded that did not have those features. Thats not overpriced...thats added value if you ask me.

My TLE has shot very well and given me no troubles. At first, I was leery of buying Kimber after hearing some stories but the thing is attractive, well made and very reliable and accurate...so maybe they ar not all that bad, eh?

They are decent 1911s, and the Custom II is one of the better deals to be had in the 1911 world. They make a bunch of guns that are more looks than function, but to some people that's worth points also.

If you are going to spend close to a grand on one I'd rather get an STI, they are that much better than the Kimbers.

Two models I suggest are the Ranger II and Trojan 5.0

Ranger II [STI Ranger II] - $1,054.50 : Talon Arms!, Your on-line Tactical Tool Box

Trojan 5.0 [STI Trojan 5.0] - $1,054.50 : Talon Arms!, Your on-line Tactical Tool Box
