On this day in 1933, the proposed Twenty-first Amendment to the Constitution of the United States was ratified. It repealed the Eighteenth Amendment mandating nationwide prohibition. If you are so inclined, have a drink in thanks.

It is believed by some that that amendment helped lead to the Gun Control Act of 1934. All of those Federal agents now had nothing to enforce, and the government didn't want to fire them all, so they needed more criminals. Kind of dampens the party a little when you think about it.

It is believed by some that Dubbya was involved in the planning of 9/11. Point being, grab a beer and enjoy the day!
