    Executives at National Public Radio recently asked the network’s top political correspondent, Mara Liasson, to reconsider her regular appearances on Fox News because of what they perceived as the network’s political bias, two sources familiar with the effort said.

    This says quite alot about the situatiion;

    A Fox spokesperson declined to comment on specific questions about Liasson. However, the spokesperson, who asked not to be named, said in an email: “With the ratings we have, NPR should be paying us to even be mentioned on our air.”

    NPR is a hold over from the 60's that needs to be set out on its own, to flourish or perish. Both the radio and television networks. I don't know how much or if any public funding is involved, but I can't imagine there is not any tax dollars supporting these throwbacks.

    Exactly... the ordinal intent of NRP was to advance the arts, which because of pop culture, would not otherwise receive much exposure. And although that is still a bad idea, I don't have a big issue with a few bucks being set aside for the advancement of the arts. But that has involved into government support for a radical left wing news and commentary network. Can you imagin the out cry if Rush Limbaugh was getting government funds....

    I used to listen to NPR for a number of things. They switch with KUT for some of their programming and feature things like Blues / Jazz hour, etc. The news isn't that bad either, there is some bias, but they actually cover a wide range of stuff.
