Looks good YG. Is that flying at full speed? Looks like you stretching out its wings quite a bit. Sweet. Be pretty good to fly your whole property line.

Might as well answer this here.

I was flying full speed for having the camera attached. I would lose altitude and have to let off but I think without the camera it could move a little faster without coming down. Was gonna try it with just the 808 today but work had other plans.

Kinda getting to be the norm these days. get enough to buy the quad, no time to fly it. It's a cruel joke.

I have been reading a lot of good stuff on that QX3. Bang for buck that is prolly the best one out there. Good choice YG.

A longer video range would be nice, but that would add in a lot of cost in video transmitter and reciever. gonna move the GeoFence to 300 Yards and try again. Wanting to find the range where there is a complete loss of video signal.

Not too terrible concerned with keeping LoS, figure when the feed cuts I'll hit the return home button and wait for it to come back.

The ~10 minute flight time would limit the flight range anyways, so I guess having a half mile video range isn't really that big of a deal.

Quads are really more FPV than anything else when you go that route. Either you have a screen or a goggle set you can stare at while it flys around. I know my Glimpse can go really high and I can still see it but I wouldn't dare take it to far without some sort of video feed and the 2.4 Ghz downlink that it has sucks at best since its...well...2.4 Ghz.

Can you even see it that far away?

Only one way to find out;)

With the GPS leash I'm not too worried. Get it up a few hundred feet and use the altitude hold to keep it there while I fly out. When video cuts out the GPS will bring it back to me and land it with the flip of a switch.

The Tx is probably good for >1 mile, seen planes flown for several miles on standard transmitters. Long is it is a clear day I don't see any GPS signal issues.

    Doesn't sound very tactical......

300 yards isn't too far. still over property in one direction.
