I was just curious how many if any, musicians we have on the forum.
If so what instrument do you play and are you currently playing with other musicians or just for your own enjoyment.

DCortez don't even think of going there - LOL!!!!

Myself I currently play drums in a band of sorts - blues and southern rock.
I also play blues harmonica and reed instruments and I use to play key boards but due to a hand injury not very good at it any more.

Does blowing into a jug count? Okay a beer bottle?

I used to play percussion in school. Was never that good on the trap set. Used to be pretty good on the marimba.

Play guitar and sing in church praise and worship team. At home country gospel and just plain country. Did the club scene years ago.......too old now. Have 3-USA Made Strats (1987-88 range) killer USA Made G & L Strat, 1-USA Fender Tele, 2-older USA Peavey's and 1-Takamine (older one made in Japan) acoustic/electric. Guns & guitars.....it doesn't get much better than that.

I play trumpet but not in front of people. LOL It's been too many years. I'm what they call a comeback player. Bought a trumpet a couple of years ago to see if I could get my lip back. I was in the Drum and Bugle Corps at my training base in the AF before I went to my permanent duty station.

You tryin' to get the band back together Elwood?

    Trying to "out" me, huh?
    OK:

Singing since I was old enough to walk (literally everything from rock to opera).
Pop and Folk Guitar since age 12; intermediate in Classical Guitar.
    Piano, intermediate.
    Percussion, beginner still.

Professional at times. Some composition. Years of recording and production.
One more term of Theory to complete my AA in Music (whenever my primary job allows it).

Primary year-round musical activity these days is singing with the Houston Symphony Chorus at Jones Hall (professional-level, but unpaid -- except for the occasional nice hotels on tours).

Wife: Working toward her AA in Music, and loving it! ;)

Ive got a Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Seagull Acoustic/elec. I play on our church worship team. Mostly rock/pop type stuff (think Hillsong, U2)

Growing up I wasn't a big fan of the Soprano sax then I heard Kenny G and changed my whole way of thinking!

When I was in high school stage band Kenny G was not a solo artist yet, so no one had heard of him yet. But I do remember a band, probably Jazz, that had a soprano sax in it. I cannot remember who that was.??????

I did love me some Maynard Ferguson (RIP)

We played Conquistador, Pagliacci, Primal Scream ........

Wow I really never expected much of a response to this thread.
I was just curious more than anything.
I was playing blues harp for a group and they were have trouble keeping drummers and one night the lead Axe player asked if I would sit in as the drummer because he knew I played drums way back when. Since then I've been the drummer.
I bought another kit and practice almost every day now.
Yes guns and music take all my money.
As bad as I want a new 45acp I spent my gun money on a used Zildjan cymbal. Yeah - USED - it was an awesome deal though - LOL!!!
Here's a pic of a jam season we had a while back. Not a good pic as it came off a cell phone.

    WOW!!!
Buzzy would love to talk to you! That's our Ax-man.
Never could get the Gitfidle. Tried like hell to learn how to play one but it just never jived in my head.
Buzzy has a closet full of guitars, amps, pedals and stuff.
Here lately its been cymbals over guns. I stll need a new 18in crash and a 10 Plash.
What I've got are ok but ever since I started replacing cymbals with Zildjan "Z" Customs the rest on my cymbals sound like crap. I'm sure you can relate that to pick-ups or amp speakers.

    No lie!!!

Yes, we now have about as many guitars as guns (actually, we have to go back and count in each case ). However, OpSec means I won't say which of those beats the other in replacement value.

Could say that one protects the other, tho....
