Last October I bought my first black plastic handgun. SA XD45.
Every gun needs a holster. I ran a WTB ad & a fellow from Austin responded wanting to make one & get a little design help starting a holster business. A really good friendship has developed & I like what he has built. Introducing him only. I dont work for him nor do I get a commission if you buy from him.

The Proto Types of holster & several mag pouches are excellent. His gear is all completely hand made. That is hand cut, hand boned, hand sewn. Stitch lines are streight & uniform. I have seen a lot of home hand made, first holsters. He is first class. Holster fit the gun w/ excellent retention. Draw is smooth & w/o drag coming out. I am almost 100% OWB. I require a holster to stay open for easy reholster. Hand cut belt loops are an exact fit for a 1.5" belt. The holster does not rock & is tight to my body.

Holster & mag pouches have a subtle arc that conforms to the body shape very easily.

Clint Smith reminds us all that conceal carry is supposed to be comforting not comfortable. The XD is comforting. The Holster is comfortable. You can have both.
Starting up he is able to make holsters for the guns he owns.
Gun Types: 1911 all except EMP (3",3.5",4",4.25",5"), Springfield XD all: (sub, compact, service, tactical), Colt SAA, LCP
He will do IWB designs also.
If you need gear for any of the above guns, dont want a 7-12 month or more wait, give him a try. I am very pleased & think you will be too. :patriot:
Contact him at: Robert (Cotton) Inks, 1706 Channel Road, Austin, TX 78746, 512-327-5858. cottoni@gmail.com

if you don't mind me asking, how much is he charging for holsters?

I dont have his price list. I have told him where I have posted the reviews. $60.00 for pancakes. & up depending on what you want in a BBQ rig. I have seen some of his tooling & He is as good as Tucker.

LT, I didn't know you were on over here.....You are giving my tooling some awfully big shoes to fill. That was a kind review of my holster and mag carrier. Thanks much.

Drop in occasionally. I do admitt & w/ no appology, it gets a little rough in some conversation circles for me so I spend most of my time on the other one.

ie: The gun store rape & Ammo slut one. Nothing personal men. Just agree w/ shorts. No real need to see how much sex & porn can be eased into a gun discussion. Out of the pulpit now.

These folks need a quality gear maker w/o a 7-12 month lead time too.
Hope you get good business here.

Looking forward to it. I did a DBA today, I'm now Cotton's Custom Leather.
Now all I need is to build the web site. Think I found a home with PINK leather.....

Hey Shellshook, I'm looking for an IWB for my sons' Springfield XD 45. I'm not sure if it is 4" or 5", but I will find out.

Do you have an IWB for this pistol as well as a mag carrier? If so, what is the price and approximate delivery date?

By the way, that is some really nice tooling on the Ranger Series. I would be interested in one of those for myself, in black leather, to fit a 1911 Government Model (5").

Thanks in advance,
B. Jones

That also bothered me a tad. For me, slut was over the top, rape wasn't tasteful, but was used in a widely accepted context, according to dictionary.com. FYI, my 13 and 16 yr old boys also read this site. I'll left it for the senior mods for two reasons. One, I don't want to come off as a new and heavy handed mod, and two, I've posted a few things that others may find objectionable such as my Canadian Ice Breaker.

Anyway ... that holster with the star is making me drool

Thanks for the kudos. I'm just starting out slowly. I should have a web site up this weekend....I put a front page on Friday. www.tex45.com . I am just starting out with my IWB designs and haven't worn them enough to be sure I'm happy with the designs. I think "shorts", Monica on this forum does do IWB's with good reports. Personally, I use Comptac, Mtac with my XD45c and 1911's IWB for a tucked shirt.
My big issue in making my own IWB is satisfactory hardware (belt clips). I don't like the metal ones that I can readily get. I haven't found any plastic ones I'm satisfied with. I'd be happy to build one for your 1911. I'll have to check the diminsions on the Glock.....for the non-molded holsters, it shouldn't be a problem....actually, I can borrow one from one of my relatives to use as a dummie till I get some.

Here's an experimental Ranger series I did for fun for my wife for Christmas in a few days (she doesn't do forums so I should be safe). It's a little over the top. She wanted one pink with red. Not my choice of color contrast.

Not the best pic to show the tooling, she wanted a rose on it. It'll be a good snake gun holster for her little Springer Champion when we are out at the ranch.

Thanks much cougartex. I talked to Tuckergunleather today and they have copyrights on the HF1 designs, so it's not something I can build and sell to someone else, but I can build them and give to my wife for Christmas. :)
