If you don't buy good quality, well fitting, properly supporting shoes/boots/athletic shoes, as TXchoctaw points out, you won't be worth a darn...

I tend to spend $75.00 - $125.00 on my work shoes (casual/dress) unless I happen to find a good buy @ DSW, which happpens on occasion. My boots have to be comfortable to stand any chance of getting out of hte store. I'm not big on buying shoes through the mail. Gotta try 'em on!

I spend around the same amount yall do for boots etc. Since I have flat feet(and I mean FLAT) I spend about 40 - 50 for special insouls. They sure do make a difference!

$150 is about my top limit, and they'd better be something like some high-end work boots or hiking boots.

Slip-on shoes? $20 is my limit there. :p I wear my boots as slip-ons a lot of the time, though.

Work/hiking boots I go all out.

$220 is the most I've spent, and I only had to spend it once for 4 years.

    Asolo 535's with superfeet insoles.

And, since that's all I wear, it makes it real cheap/easy. There are some custom Cuadra boots I'd pay good money for, but guns and ammo takes precedence.

I guess when my tap dancing turtle makes me rich and it makes me money faster than I can spend it, I'll be able to buy nicer stuff.

Far from a closet hippie, not even close to a hippie, heck, there is only one hippie in my family and she is my uncles ex wife in commiefornia.

I just like the comfort and support.
I have messed up knees and back so proper support in a shoe is critical mass for me
The Birkenstock provides the support, and they last.

    1. Sandals worn by liberals, women in Vermont, and for some unknown reason, evangelical youth pastors trying to appeal to young adherents of Christianity.

    2. Insanely comfortable shoes. Sandals or clogs are the typical occurence, however they do produce various other types. Worn by hippie and prep alike, lauded for their comfort by all. Everyone should own at least one pair.

Dude, I'm having feet orgasms right now due to my Birks!

    3. slippers for lesbians

The gym teacher wore birkenstocks to the sleepover.

I wear my running shoes at the gym and running other than that it's boots or flip flops most of the time.
The most I've spent on a pair on shoes is like $50 and I bought a pair of HH boots once for $350 I probably wouldn't spend more than that.

Dont skimp on your feet! I guess if you do nothing but walk from the car to the house thats one thing. My running shoes, probably 125-150, work boots about 125, hunting boots 200-250, I guess thats about all I wear. I try to stay out of dress shoes if at all possible....

The Mississippi River broke through a protective dike today. What is a protective dike? Is it a large woman that says "Don't go near there! But Betty- Don't go near there! Don't go down by the river!"... No, we can't say "dyke" on the air, we can't even say "lesbian" anymore, it's "women in comfortable shoes. Thank You."
