    ...but this time, it looks like he deserved it:

    Mr. Fuller was seen trying to open doors of cars and homes and was heard by one witness yelling, “I have a gun.” He ran inside a home, and after repeated commands to surrender, Sheriff Judd said, Mr. Fuller showed only his left hand while keeping the right hand hidden behind his back. The sheriff said Mr. Fuller emerged and pointed a black and chrome object at the deputy. Police say the deputy feared for his life and fired five times. The object turned out to be a stapler.

    I love the Sheriff's response:

    “We don’t choose to shoot people; people choose for us to shoot them,” Sheriff Judd said

    I was fully expecting to see a story about a Deputy Sheriff shooting the guy with his staple gun. Maybe a big air powered staple gun. Turns out, the perp had the stapler. I bet it was empty too. At least mine always is when I want to use it.
