Has anyone used Springfield's generation III scope mount on the M1A? If so, I am looking for feedback and or advice on alternatives. I want to scope mine and use it for pest control at the house (coyote). Mama (God bless her) wants to endanger the specie. She was willing to leave them alone until her little dust mop dog almost became coyote kibble one evening. Now she has declared jihad.

I think that is the source of a friend of mine's walk in his groupings. The gun shoots tight when it's cold, but as everything warms up the point of impact walks. Other M1As with different mounts don't do this, they fire in the same central area even when you could cook breakfast off of them.

I would get a Bassett mount. They are made here locally by a wild man that's a big lover of M1s.

Smith, ARMS, Sadlak and Bassett would be my recommendations. I had a Gen3 SA mount but just couldn't keep it tight. I personally went with a ARMS and couldn't be happier.
